Archaeology Field School Description

A great oppertunity to join ADMAT's land survey in the province of Monte Cristi. A survey conducted on the site last November has collected many fragments of pottery incised parallel lines. Their decor is similar to those published by Maggiolo et al. (1973). So the survey will confirm or deny whether we are dealing with a Meillacoide settlement. We propose based discoveries to be made during excavations to run different types of studies archaeometric. These will aim to contribute to the understanding of the temporal occupation of space by man and the exploitation of the natural environment. Thus, it is necessary to date the archaeological or levels encountered by the technique of Radiocarbon 14 (C14), practice of geological studies to clarify the nature of lithic artifacts to identify the area of supply. If adventure graves were uncovered, anthropological studies of human remains would be businesses. Finally, many remnants malacological currently littering the floor, evidence of anthropogenic exploitation of the marine environment. These shells are determined to identify the spectrum of exploited species.
