Archaeology Field School Tuition

Flinders University Students

Flinders students should enrol in the Field School topic ARCH2106 through the normal enrolment process. Please note a quota will apply to this topic which will require you to contact the Topic Coordinator prior to enrolment.

a. The normal 4.5 unit topic fee for archaeology (students may choose to defer payment via HECS) will apply. Enrolled international students are liable for normal international tuition fees.

b. There may be additional field work costs for accommodation, food, and travel which must be paid before the field school commences.

Non-Flinders University Australian Participants (domestic short course participants)

a. AUD$1750 tuition fee (inclusive of GST).

Overseas Participants (international short course participants)

a. AUD$3000 tuition fee (inclusive of GST).

Archaeology Field School Description


On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate:

basic field observational skills
basic field note taking skills
familiarity with, and basic competency in, archaeological site surveying techniques
familiarity with, and basic competency in, archaeological fieldwork recording skills
basic skills in reading, understanding and interpreting site plans
basic skills in map reading, understanding and interpretation
the ability to work successfully in a group
